Spanish Tortilla

Venezuelan Corn Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of sweet corn

  • ¾ cup of vegetable oil

  • 1 cup of shredded white cheese (mozzarella or queso fresco)

  • 3/4 cup of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 1 cup of Harina Pan or any precooked White Cornmeal

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 ½ cups of milk

  • ½ teaspoon of salt

 

Instructions:

In a blender add 1 ½ cans of corn, oil, cheese, sugar, baking powder, eggs and milk.  Blend until you have a liquid paste.

Place the paste in a bowl and add the rest of the corn and the cornmeal. Mix everything with a spoon until you have a homogeneous paste.

Preheat the oven at 350 degrees.

Grease and flour a baking pan. Add the mixture to the backing pan and bake it for 1 hour. Enjoy!!!! ☺

This is an easy Venezuelan dish that our family loves!! it works as a dessert, side dish, main dish, snack, breakfast, anytime. Enjoy!
